The best vibe coding tools

15 tools · 2026 · no votes, no pay-to-list

We keep verdicts on what AI can replace for a living, so here's the honest list of the tools doing the replacing. Grouped by shape, priced as listed, and each card links to our verdict on whether you could vibecode the tool itself, plus its free alternatives. Sponsors never touch this list.

agent IDEs · a whole editor built around the agent
01

Cursor$20/moPARCIAL

The default answer in 2026. A VS Code fork with agents that plan, edit, and run; most one-shot receipts you see on X trace back to it.

02

Windsurf$20/moNO TANTO

Cursor's closest rival: cleaner agent flow, cheaper seat, smaller ecosystem.

prompt-to-app builders · describe the app, get a URL
03

Lovable$25/moNO TANTO

Prompt to deployed web app with hosting and auth included. The fastest zero-to-URL if you don't call yourself a developer.

04

Bolt.new$25/moNO TANTO

Prompt to running web project in a browser sandbox. Good for throwaway builds and demos you want in minutes.

05

v0$30/moNO TANTO

Vercel's prompt-to-React tool. Best at UI components you paste into a codebase you already have.

06

Replit$25/moPARCIAL

Browser IDE with an agent, instant hosting, and a real mobile app. The whole loop in one tab.

copilots in your editor · the AI stays in the passenger seat
07

GitHub Copilot$10/moPARCIAL

The incumbent. Cheapest seat, lives everywhere GitHub does, agent mode catching up fast.

08

Sourcegraph Codyprice variesNO TANTO

Codebase-aware chat and completions; the answer that gets picked when the repo is enormous.

09

Tabnine$9/moNO TANTO

Private, local-first completions; the pick when code isn't allowed to leave the building.

10

Blackbox AIprice variesNO TANTO

Code chat and agents in the browser; scrappy, and the free tier does a lot.

autonomous agents · give it the ticket, review the PR
11

Devinprice variesNO TANTO

Plans, codes, tests, and opens the pull request on its own. Works best on well-scoped chores, not vision.

12

Factoryprice variesNO TANTO

Droids for migrations, tests, and grunt work at team scale.

terminal agents · the ones this site's "open in" buttons assume
13

Claude Code

Terminal agent that reads your repo, edits files, runs tests, and ships. What most prompts on this site are written for.

14

Codex

OpenAI's take on the same idea: point it at a repo and talk. CLI is open source.

15

aider

The open source original of the genre; git-native, works with whatever model you bring.

preguntas
What is vibe coding?

Describing what you want in plain language and letting an AI agent write, run, and fix the code. The term stuck in early 2025; the tools on this page are where it actually works in practice.

Which vibe coding tools are free?

Most have a usable free tier: Cursor and GitHub Copilot have free plans, v0, Bolt.new and Lovable give free credits, and aider plus the Codex CLI are open source. The paid tiers buy bigger models and more runs, not the idea.

Can AI rebuild these tools too?

Fair question on this site. We hold verdicts on every tool above that sells a subscription: Cursor and Replit rate KINDA, most of the rest survive on more than their code. Each card links to the full verdict.
